I build the software small businesses need but can’t buy.
I’m Travis Massner, the founder and developer behind MassnerDev.
I have a Software Engineering degree from Iowa State University with a minor in Cybersecurity, and I’ve been building custom software for businesses since 2023 — web apps, mobile apps, automations, and the unglamorous integration work that finally gets a business’s existing tools talking to each other.
MassnerDev is me, and that’s the point. Hire an agency and you get an account manager, a project manager, and whoever happens to be free that sprint. Hire me and the person who writes the code is sitting in the conversation where you explain the problem. Nothing gets lost on the way from your business to the build.
The work I like most is the kind nobody sees from outside: the spreadsheet that becomes a real system, the three platforms that start syncing on their own, the app that means a crew stops carrying paper forms back to the office. It’s not glamorous. It just makes the week shorter for everyone involved.

I’ll be inside your systems, your numbers, sometimes things you haven’t even told your own team yet. None of it becomes someone else’s case study, and none of it gets mentioned to anyone who doesn’t need to know. That’s not a policy I had to write down — it’s just how this works.
I’ll figure it out, not force-fit it
I won’t tell you I’ve already solved your exact problem — most of the time, nobody has. What I bring is the willingness to actually work through something new: learn the platform, test the approach, read the docs nobody wants to read. Your business doesn’t have to fit whatever I already know how to build.
You talk to the person building it
There’s no account manager between you and the code. What you explain in a conversation is what gets built, because the same person is on both ends of it.
You own everything
Source code, accounts, infrastructure, documentation. Nothing is held back to keep you tied to me. If you bring in someone else next year, everything they need is already yours.
